More than 13 litres of blood were collected during this year’s event organised on 12 February at the KRUK SA head office. Additionally, 22 people volunteered to the Wrocław bank of bone marrow donors.

This year was the sixth time the employees of the KRUK Group have donated blood in collaboration with the Regional Blood Donation and Blood Therapy Centre in Wrocław. However, the possibility to register in the Polish Bone Marrow Bank was offered for the first time.

22 new bone marrow donors and 13 litres of blood were a very good result, especially that we are in the middle of the flu season and blood donors must be in perfect health.

So far, blood donation events were attended both by long-term blood donors and by first timers. The February blood donation event also attracted people working for other companies based in the same building who learned about the campaign from advertisements.

The purpose of this year’s blood collection is to help patients of Wrocław hospitals. Persons who volunteered as prospective bone marrow donors will be able to help patients suffering from leukemia and other diseases of the blood and bone marrow.

Cooperation with the Bone Marrow Bank is designed as a permanent element accompanying blood collection among KRUK SA employees.

Our blood donation events reflect one of the KRUK Group values which is to offer help to one another. The next event is planned for the second half of the year.
