KRUK SA, Poland’s largest debt collection company has won the prestigious IT Leader 2010 prize in the Trade and Services category awarded by the Computerworld weekly. The jury of the competition evaluated KRUK’s achievements in the IT area as the most innovative and significant for the realization of business strategy. The prize was awarded during an official ceremony on 28 September 2010.

The purpose of the IT Leader competition is to show appreciation for those Polish institutions and businesses which are the most successful in the application of state-of-the-art IT and data communication technologies. The IT Leader title is awarded to companies which stand out for their innovation, ability to create business value through information technology and for the coherence of their IT and business strategies. KRUK SA, leader of the Polish debt collection market, became the IT Leader 2010 in the Trade and Services category.

“In the past years, we have been nominated twice for the IT Leader title for the high level of our IT solutions which we have implemented and are using in our operations,” said Piotr Krupa, President of the Board of KRUK SA. “So, third time lucky! We have honestly earned this title and it is a sign of huge appreciation for our efforts. It proves that the solutions implemented by us represent top level of functionality and creativity, such as e.g. e-KRUK thanks to which every indebted person may easily manage their debt,”  said Krupa. “The IT Leader title awarded to a receivables management company also shows that the sector is among those branches of the Polish economy which are characterised by the highest level of IT innovation. Among the beneficiaries are both creditors who recover their receivables more quickly and debtors whom we are providing with simpler and more convenient forms of settling their debts,” added Piotr Krupa.

The IT Leader 2010 prize was awarded to KRUK SA for their innovative IT solutions supporting the company’s market strategy. The e-KRUK and infoKonsument.pl systems implemented in 2009 support effective implementation of the company’s settlement- and education-focused policy towards debtors. e-KRUK is an innovative and first on the Polish market internet platform enabling interactive contact with debtors via the Internet. infoKonsument.pl is an innovative tool providing consumers with online asscess to one of the largest credit information databases. The system has been created for the ERIF Register of Debtors, one of the KRUK Group companies.

The IT Leader competition has been organised for 14 years by the Computerworld weekly. It is the most prestigious award of its type in Poland. This year the honorary sponsor of the competition was Waldemar Pawlak, vice president of the Council of Ministers and minister of economy. Among IT Leader competitors are companies from outside the data communication industry, public sector institutions and NGOs. In 2010 the main prize was awarded in seven categories: Financial Institutions, Industry, Trade and Services, Public Sector, SMEs and NGOs and Health Care Sector.
