It involves personal contact with the debtor at the debtor’s place of residence, employment or business. The purpose of the visit is to determine the reasons of the debtor’s being in default with the payments, to agree a new payment schedule, to deliver or fill in necessary paperwork and to discipline the debtor and to make them repay the debt. The visit can also include interviews with neighbours at the debtor’s place of residence.
